Job Description:
The Center Director of CIEE Tokyo will have overall responsibility for managing all aspects of the Center, overseeing the planning and implementation of all CIEE programs, recruiting and developing the Center's core team, and ensuring the highest level of quality and customer satisfaction. The program portfolio consists of semester, full-year, and short-term (summer, January, custom) opportunities for pre-college, college, and graduate students. All CIEE programs are defined by the highest standards of educational quality and provide access to students from diverse backgrounds.

1. Academic Programs: Enable the academic department to achieve its goals in planning and implementing CIEE Tokyo programs, including overseeing internship opportunities, hiring, managing, and developing academic faculty, developing course syllabi and materials, and managing student academic issues.

2. Student Services: Enable the Student Life team to achieve its goals in developing and overseeing student services, including visas, pre-departure orientation, on-site orientation and activities, and implementing CIEE health, safety, and security protocols and procedures.

3. Human Resources: Maintain overall responsibility for all staff and faculty at the Center, planning and executing strategies to fill key positions necessary for program delivery and development, and all operations.

4. Health, Safety, and Security: Work with staff to ensure compliance with CIEE standards for health, safety, and security.
5. Program Evaluation: Oversee the administration of the student evaluation process in accordance with the policies and protocols of CIEE, partner institutions, and other stakeholders.

6. Financial and Legal Management: Serve as Managing Director of the Corporation and assume related responsibilities.

7. Facilities and Residence Hall Management: Ensure the operations team achieves goals regarding the smooth and efficient operation and maintenance of facilities, residence halls, housing, etc.

8. External Relations/Internships/Community Engagement: Ensure the development and implementation of strategies to increase awareness of CIEE's mission and goals throughout the Tokyo community and engage and network with all stakeholders. Ensure that CIEE Tokyo meets CIEE standards and complies with locally applicable standards and laws.

9. Marketing: Support the creation of promotional materials for CIEE by providing updates, content, and other information as requested.

10. Other: Participate and present at the CIEE Annual Conference or other professional meetings as required and perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:
The successful candidate will be a seasoned professional with a minimum of 10 years of experience in study abroad, international educational exchange, or a leadership role in a related higher education institution. A PhD is preferred, but a Master's degree is required. In addition, applicants with the following experience and skills are especially sought after:
