Job Description	The Finance Leader at FLP Japan will be primarily responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Finance department. The Leader will work closely with a team of junior accountants and an outsourced BPO team to manage financial functions such as accounts payable, cash flow forecasting, bank reconciliations, general ledger management, overseas remittances, and tax compliance while simultaneously performing various accounting functions. In this position, the Leader will act as the right hand man to assist the Finance Senior Manager in analyzing, planning, forecasting, and interpreting Japan's performance, which is his/her job. The Leader will be an essential resource in developing and implementing systems, processes, and reports that will increase the quality and availability of financial information and operational metrics to help manage and control the business, and will be part of the financial management team along with the Senior Manager. Responsibilities:  Oversee day-to-day transactions such as accounts payable, general ledger, and balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with US GAAP.  Prepare JEs for overseas transactions, payroll related and accrued expenses and make remittances for them.  Review and comment/post journal entries prepared by subordinates.  Participate in month-end and year-end closing process.  Prepare annual tax returns.  Implement automation and process improvements to reduce redundancies.  Track progress on financial and accounting goals  Establish accounting policies and procedures that are aligned with company objectives.  Ensure compliance with law and required external and internal controls.  Train and supervise other accounting staff.

Job Requirements	■Required Requirements  4+ years of experience in general accounting or finance  Experience using general accounting software  Familiar with Microsoft Excel package  Solid knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, laws and regulations  Good team player who can interact with staff at all levels within the organization  Excellent ability to create systems for operational efficiency  Attention to detail and accuracy  Ability to prioritize work ■Preferred Requirements  Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred.  CPA or equivalent locally certified and prior experience as a Certified Public Accountant preferred.  Experience with cost accounting and inventory valuation preferred.  Experience with data integration between accounting and operating systems preferred.  Experience implementing accounting applications preferred.  Positive attitude and self-motivation.  Willingness to change leading to continuous improvement.
