Program Officer in charge of scholarship programs in the Human Resources Development Department ● Operation and management of "① Young Leaders Scholarship Fund Program (Sylff)" and "② Japanese Language Education Fund Program (NF-JLEP)" Scholarships are provided to each university as a fund, and regular monitoring is performed to ensure that the programs are being managed appropriately. Exchange information with university faculty and staff via online meetings and emails, and visit universities on overseas business trips (3-4 overseas business trips per year, with multiple short-term business trips). ● Planning and review of "③ Support Program" We implement support programs that directly support fellows, such as supporting overseas research activities and social contribution activities. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we quickly implemented a program to provide living support funds to fellows who fell into financial difficulties. You can challenge yourself to plan and implement new programs. [Specifically] - Mainly engage in the above ① to ③ duties, as well as the operation and management of each university's finances and programs, and scholarship payment under the new scholarship grant scheme. - ③ Engage in the work of the support programs as the main and deputy person in charge of individual programs. - Depending on the situation of the department, you will support the READ JAPAN project as necessary. - After experiencing the basic tasks, you will assist the department head in an assistant role at an appropriate time, taking into consideration your experience, skills, and aptitude. Specifically, you will assist the department head in financial and program management tasks for Sylff and NF-JLEP by coordinating with other program officers. You will also work to resolve serious issues at the university. For support programs, you will be in charge of program management in proposing new projects. Furthermore, you will assist the department head in formulating business concepts and mid-term plans for the entire department. - If you have a higher level of experience, skills, and aptitude, you will also assist the department head in department management tasks. [About the human resource development program] ① Young Leaders Scholarship Fund Program (Sylff) This program is implemented at 69 universities in 44 countries, including Japan, to develop leaders who respect the diversity of cultures and values and act for the common interest of humanity. It provides scholarships and long-term support to graduate students studying humanities and social sciences. ② Japanese Language Education Fund Program (NF-JLEP) This program is implemented at 11 universities in 6 countries with the aim of promoting Japanese language education. It provides scholarships to students studying Japanese and grants for training and improving Japanese language teachers. ③ READ JAPAN Project By donating English-language books related to Japan to educational and research institutions around the world, it is developing a program to promote understanding of Japan among opinion leaders and intellectuals who are not necessarily specialists in Japanese language or Japanese studies. The program officer who plans and manages this development program is currently being recruited. The human resource development department has eight staff members.
