Ahead Group is seeking a proactive and self-sufficient IT Junior System Administrator for one of our Global Asset Management Clients. This is for a 6-month contract, focused on user desktop support. Overview: As an IT Junior System Administrator, you will be responsible for supporting 70 users locally, with 90% of them speaking Japanese, while most can communicate in English. You will handle a variety of desktop support tasks, working independently to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations. The role requires proactive troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and effective time management, as many issues may require escalation. Strong note-taking skills, documentation, and the ability to work with remote users will be key to success. Training will be provided to help you become proficient in managing tasks independently, and your ability to problem-solve using previous experience and best practices will be essential. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach and be comfortable with regular interaction with both local and remote users. Fluent English (native level preferred) and basic knowledge of Japanese are required. Key Responsibilities: - Managing user IDs, email access, password resets, and login issues - Troubleshooting software issues (Microsoft Office, VMWare, Windows) - Resolving hardware and software issues for devices such as iPhones, iPads, printers, webcams, and video conference systems - Assisting with desk moves, imaging desktops, laptops, and mobile devices - Maintaining the IT asset inventory - Supporting users in different Windows domains - Using ticketing systems (e.g., Cherwell, ServiceNow) to document and resolve user requests - Communicating issues and resolutions via documentation and email notifications - Coordinating with the Global IT Team on conference calls - Providing occasional after-hours support as needed Preferred Skills: - Experience with Windows OS and Microsoft Office products - Experience with photo editing software like Photoshop or GIMP - Strong interpersonal skills - Familiarity with Japanese work culture - Ability to manage competing deadlines - Fluent English (native preferred) - Basic Japanese language skills |
